Zach Ertz
Zach Ertz Status in question for Week 16
Fri, Dec 20, 2024, 3:21 PM
Ertz (concussion/shoulder) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game versus the Eagles, Ralph Vacchiano of Fox Sports reports.
Analysis: Ertz was diagnosed with a concussion during the Commanders' Week 15 win at New Orleans, but after missing Wednesday's practice, he was limited Thursday while wearing a black, non-contact jersey and maintained that activity level one day later. He still must gain clearance from an independent neurologist in order to suit up this weekend, and ultimately his status will be clarified about 90 minutes before Sunday's 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff, at the latest. John Bates and Ben Sinnott are on hand to cover for Ertz if the latter is inactive.

Zach Ertz Limited in return to practice
Thu, Dec 19, 2024, 3:05 PM
Ertz (concussion) was a limited practice participant Thursday.
Analysis: After suffering a concussion this past Sunday at New Orleans, Ertz sat out Wednesday's session, but he was spotted in a black non-contact jersey Thursday, per Zach Selby of the Commanders' official site, before the team tagged the tight end as limited. Ertz thus is making his way through the protocol for head injuries, but he'll need to gain clearance from an independent neurologist in order to suit up Sunday against the Eagles.
Zach Ertz
Zach Ertz Doesn't practice Wednesday
Wed, Dec 18, 2024, 3:20 PM
Ertz (concussion/rest) was a non-participant at Wednesday's practice.
Analysis: Ertz sustained a concussion in the middle of the second quarter in this past Sunday's win at New Orleans. With no activity to speak of to begin Week 16 prep, he may be hard-pressed to make his way through all five phases of the protocol for head injuries ahead of Sunday's game against the Eagles. No matter, Ertz will have two more chances Thursday and Friday to mix into drills and potentially put himself on a path to play this weekend.
John Bates
John Bates Makes short catch in Week 15
Wed, Dec 18, 2024, 11:15 AM
Bates played 42 of the Commanders' 78 snaps on offense and hauled in his lone target for a six-yard reception in Sunday's 20-19 win over the Saints.
Analysis: Bates and fellow reserve tight end Ben Sinnott (42 snaps, 1-7-0 receiving line on one target) turned in nearly identical lines in Week 15 in terms of both playing time and production, with both seeing their roles expand after starter Zach Ertz (concussion) left the game early. If Ertz can't clear concussion protocol ahead of Sunday's game against the Eagles, another near-even timeshare at tight end between Bates and Sinnott could be in the offing. Sinnott profiles as the more fantasy-friendly option of the two, as the rookie second-round pick recorded 49 catches for 676 yards and six touchdowns during his final collegiate season at Kansas State.
Ben Sinnott
Ben Sinnott Notches fifth reception of season
Wed, Dec 18, 2024, 11:11 AM
Sinnott played 42 of the Commanders' 78 snaps on offense and recorded a seven-yard reception on his lone target in Sunday's 20-19 win over the Saints.
Analysis: Though the Commanders invested a second-round pick in April's draft into Sinnott, the 22-year-old tight end out of Kansas State has handled a relatively muted role during his rookie campaign. His reception in the Week 15 win was just his fifth of the season, but he could see his best opportunity to date to produce in this Sunday's game against the Eagles if top tight end Zach Ertz (concussion) is unable to play. After Ertz logged just 18 snaps against the Saints before departing, Sinnott and John Bates (42 snaps) finished with an even split of the playing time at tight end.
Luke McCaffrey
Luke McCaffrey Snap count drops in Week 15
Wed, Dec 18, 2024, 10:59 AM
McCaffrey reeled in his lone target for no gain and played 12 of the Commanders' 78 snaps on offense in Sunday's 20-19 win over the Saints.
Analysis: Coming out of a Week 14 bye, the Commanders placed No. 2 wideout Noah Brown (kidney) on injured reserve, but his absence didn't open up any more opportunities for McCaffrey. In fact, McCaffrey saw his snap count on offense get cut in half from the Commanders' previous game, when he logged 22 snaps in a Week 13 win over the Titans. Though the Commanders lost Brown to IR, Jamison Crowder (calf) was activated prior to Sunday's game and ended up leapfrogging McCaffrey in the pecking order at receiver, finishing fourth in snaps behind fellow wideouts Terry McLaurin, Dyami Brown and Olamide Zaccheaus. The 2024 third-round pick out of Rice has struggled to find his footing during his rookie season, recording just 17 receptions for 155 yards on 21 targets through 14 games.
Jamison Crowder
Jamison Crowder Three catches in return
Wed, Dec 18, 2024, 10:55 AM
Crowder (calf) played 21 of the Commanders' 78 snaps on offense and recorded three receptions for 27 yards on three targets in Sunday's 20-19 win over the Saints.
Analysis: Crowder made his return from injured reserve in Week 15, after he had missed the Commanders' previous 10 games with a calf injury. Prior to getting hurt, Crowder didn't have much of a role on offense over Washington's first two games of the season, but the loss of Noah Brown (kidney) opened up some opportunities in the slot for the veteran. Crowder still finished fourth among Commanders receivers in snaps, and he could drop down another spot in the pecking order once waiver pickup K.J. Osborn gets up to speed with the offense.
Olamide Zaccheaus
Olamide Zaccheaus Three receptions in win
Wed, Dec 18, 2024, 2:22 AM
Zaccheaus caught three of four targets for 36 yards in Sunday's 20-19 win over the Saints.
Analysis: Zaccheaus played just under 50 percent of Washington's 78 offensive snaps Sunday while operating as the Commanders' No. 3 wide receiver behind Terry McLaurin and Dyami Brown. The veteran wideout caught three passes for the second-straight week, but he was unable to turn those touches into significant fantasy production. Zaccheaus should continue to be ignored for fantasy fantasy purposes as the season approaches its conclusion. The Commanders host the Eagles in Week 16.
Dyami Brown
Dyami Brown Nabs three balls Sunday
Sun, Dec 15, 2024, 4:18 PM
Brown had three receptions on four targets for 30 yards in Sunday's 20-19 win over the Saints.
Analysis: Brown continued to serve as the Commanders' No. 2 wideout with Noah Brown (kidney) being placed on injured reserve. The 24-year-old Brown has generated seven receptions for 65 yards in six quarters of action since taking over for his injured namesake. Brown could generate deep-league appeal with his current role in next Sunday's tilt against the Eagles.
Brian Robinson
Brian Robinson Gains 87 total yards Sunday
Sun, Dec 15, 2024, 4:11 PM
Robinson had 21 carries for 65 yards while corralling all three of his targets for 22 receiving yards in Sunday's 20-19 win over New Orleans.
Analysis: Robinson struggled as a runner Sunday, averaging just 3.1 yards per carry despite tying his season high in carries (21). The 25-year-old helped offset his inefficient rushing day with the second-highest yardage total as a receiver through 11 active games this year. Robinson will continue to lead Washington's backfield as the team prepares to host Philadelphia next Sunday.
Terry McLaurin
Terry McLaurin Scary good output Sunday
Sun, Dec 15, 2024, 3:50 PM
McLaurin finished with seven receptions (on 10 targets) for 73 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 20-19 win over the Saints.
Analysis: McLaurin teamed up with quarterback Jayden Daniels to score both of Washington's touchdowns on the day. It was Scary Terry's second consecutive game with multiple trips to the end zone, and his fourth overall this season (11 total touchdowns). The 28-year-old is just 31 yards shy of recording his fifth 1,000-yard campaign in his sixth season with the Commanders. McLaurin should accomplish the feat with ease in a pivotal matchup against the Eagles next Sunday.
Jayden Daniels
Jayden Daniels Carries offense in tight victory
Sun, Dec 15, 2024, 3:32 PM
Daniels completed 25 of 31 pass attempts for 226 yards and a pair of touchdowns while taking 11 carries for 66 yards in Sunday's 20-19 win over New Orleans.
Analysis: Daniels picked apart the opposition by completing 81 percent of his passes while using his legs to extend multiple drives in Sunday's one-point victory. The promising rookie recorded his fourth game with multiple touchdowns and no turnovers through 14 starts as a pro. As of the conclusion of this game, the 9-5 Commanders still have an outside shot at the NFC East title, so expect inspired play from Daniels against the first-place Eagles next Sunday.
Zach Ertz
Zach Ertz Concussion confirmed
Sun, Dec 15, 2024, 1:36 PM
Ertz won't return to Sunday's game in New Orleans due to a concussion.
Analysis: Ertz was checked for a head injury in the second quarter before the Commanders made a ruling on his availability for the rest of Week 15. He'll finish the contest with two catches (on two targets) for 25 yards. John Bates and Ben Sinnott will handle TE reps for Washington in the second half and potentially beyond that point.

Zach Ertz Getting concussion check
Sun, Dec 15, 2024, 1:11 PM
Ertz is under evaluation for a head injury during Sunday's game at New Orleans.
Analysis: Prior to visiting the sideline tent in the middle of the second quarter, Ertz had hauled in both of his targets for 25 yards. John Bates and Ben Sinnott are the healthy tight ends on the Commanders' active roster.
Jeff Driskel
Jeff Driskel Available as emergency QB
Sun, Dec 15, 2024, 11:17 AM
Driskel (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Saints.
Analysis: The quarterback can only enter the contest if starter Jayden Daniels and backup Marcus Mariota can't continue to play. Driskel has played on one offensive snap this season.
K.J. Osborn
K.J. Osborn Healthy scratch Sunday
Sun, Dec 15, 2024, 11:13 AM
Osborn (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Saints.
Analysis: The wide receiver was claimed off waivers from the Patriots on Wednesday. Osborn joined Washington after the team learned that Noah Brown would likely miss the rest of the season with a kidney injury, but Dyami Brown, Olamide Zaccheaus and Luke McCaffrey remain ahead of the new addition on the depth chart behind top receiver Terry McLaurin.
Jamison Crowder
Jamison Crowder Active Sunday
Sun, Dec 15, 2024, 11:07 AM
Crowder (calf) is active for Sunday's matchup with the Saints.
Analysis: The wide receiver and punt returner was activated from injured reserve Saturday. Crowder has missed every game since Week 3 due to the injury. He likely will serve as Washington's punt returner Sunday.
Jamison Crowder
Jamison Crowder Activated ahead of Sunday's game
Sat, Dec 14, 2024, 6:29 PM
Crowder (calf) has been activated from injured reserve Saturday ahead of Sunday's game against the Saints, Ben Standig of The Athletic reports, but he remains questionable to suit up.
Analysis: Crowder hasn't played since Week 3 due to a calf injury, but he's now in line to return to the gridiron. The 31-year-old wideout will likely serve as the Commanders' top punt returner Sunday, assuming he's active.
Noah Brown
Noah Brown Placed on injured reserve
Sat, Dec 14, 2024, 4:39 PM
Brown (kidney) was placed on injured reserve Saturday, Ben Standig of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: This was purely a transactional move, as Brown is expected to miss multiple weeks after suffering a kidney injury back in Week 13. The Commanders activated Jamison Crowder (calf) off injured reserve, but expect Dyami Brown and Olamide Zaccheaus to get first crack at filling the role opposite Terry McLaurin in the team's passing attack.
Jamison Crowder
Jamison Crowder Could return in Week 15
Fri, Dec 13, 2024, 4:00 PM
Crowder (calf) is listed as questionable ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Saints.
Analysis: Crowder has missed the Commanders' last 10 games due to a calf injury, but after practicing in full throughout the week, he's trending toward playing in Sunday's contest. However, the 31-year-old wide receiver has yet to be added back to the active roster, a move that must occur for him to suit up Sunday. If he's activated Saturday, Crowder likely will serve as the Commanders' top punt returner and also might get a few snaps on offense.
